Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a minimum two night stay required?

We do take one night bookings, however for stays in June, July and August advance bookings are only taken for two nights or more. Last minute one night stays during June, July and August can be booked up to 2 days in advance if available.

Do you take dogs?

Yes, however Nick has a mild allergy and with this in mind, we do accept well behaved dogs by prior arrangement, but we request that they stay in the guest room and not in the internal public areas. If you are bringing your dog with you, please don't forget to bring their bed, blanket, food and bowl. We do charge a per stay fee (not per night) of £10 to cover intensive cleaning upon departure.

Is there internet access in the rooms?

Yes, we provide free wireless internet covering all guest rooms, the lounge and the outside Loch View seating area.
For the benefit of all of our guests, we do ask that the volume is switched off when laptop computers or hand held devices are used in public areas.

Do you take Credit or Debit cards?

We are happy to take payment by Credit or Debit card. There is no extra charge for guests settling their accounts by Credit or Debit Card.

Do we ask for Deposits?

We do not usually request a deposit, preferring to ask for a credit or debit card guarantee. If you prefer to send a cheque, we ask for a deposit of £25.00 per person. We take no money at the time of booking, leaving you to settle your bill when you take your leave of us. Sadly very occasionally, there are some guests who simply don't turn up for their booking. In the event of this happening, we have no choice but to charge the full cost of your stay to the card number that you give us to confirm your booking. We will, of course, send you a full set of documentation to allow you to reclaim the sums from your chosen travel insurance company.

What if I need to cancel?

If you cancel your reservation within 21 days of the confirmed date of arrival and we are unable to re-let your room, we reserve the right to make a cancellation charge of £25.00 per person. Cancellations more than 21 days prior, will not incur a cancellation charge. Cancellations on the day of arrival, or in the case of a no-show, the full cost of your stay will be charged if we are unable to re-let your room. We will, of course, send you a full set of documentation to allow you to reclaim the sums from your chosen travel insurance company.

What are the check in and check out times?

Our normal check in time is after 4 pm. We ask our guests to vacate their room by 10.30 am on your day of departure. We will always try to accommodate any late check out or early check in requests where possible.

What time is breakfast?

We serve breakfast between 8.00 & 9.00am on Monday to Sunday.

Do you cater for Special Diets?

We pride ourselves in providing excellent choices for guests who have special dietary needs. We simply ask that you discuss these with us at the time you make your booking.

Is there a telephone available for guest use?

Certain mobile telephone networks are available in and around the house.
We can provide a telephone upon request if required. We are very happy to take messages for guests who leave our main telephone number as a contact for family or colleagues. We do ask that mobile telephones are not used in the internal public areas as a courtesy to other guests and are only used in the privacy of your bedroom, or in the grounds.

Can all three rooms be booked for exclusive use?

Yes we would be delighted to exclusively accommodate groups of up to seven adults.

Do we welcome smokers?

Yes. In line with new legislation in Scotland we do not offer any facilities in the house for guests who wish to smoke, therefore guests can only smoke outside of the property. We are exploring options to provide a covered area for those guests who want to enjoy a cigarette, cigar or pipe smoke whenever they want, whatever the weather and we do provide ash trays in the grounds adjacent to the Loch View outdoor seating area. We would ask all our guests to respect our wishes on this sensitive issue

Do you have a licence?

Sorry we do not. However the excellent and friendly bar at the Caberfeidh is only a 5 minute walk away. In each room we provide wine glasses and a corkscrew, if you prefer to drink in more intimate surroundings.

Do you have disabled facilities?

There are many forms of disability and we will happily discuss your individual requirements in advance, to see if we can accommodate you in comfort. We have car parking right outside of the front door and 2 spacious ground floor rooms both of which are en-suite for privacy.
