The village of Lochinver boasts a diverse selection of eateries to cater for every pocket and taste. These local establishments serve meals and drinks, using fresh and local ingredients from the abundant natural larder surrounding us – every meal as rewarding as the views. The choice of fares are many, from Internationally renowned Chef Albert Roux, to the award winning Lochinver Larder, who's famous pies get packed and posted around the globe. It really does depend on what you fancy at the time.

The Lochinver Larder

Produced under the watchful eyes of Ian and Debra Stewart at the Lochinver Larder, you will find a huge selection of the best "home made" sweet and savoury pies known to man and woman alike. There is also a spacious coffee shop and bistro, offering great value morning coffees, afternoon teas, lunches and evening meals. The early evening meals are very popular, with locals and visitors alike, all served up using the best Scottish ingredients, including freshly landed fish and shellfish. The specials board is definitely worth checking out - complementing the already extensive menu. All this just a short 5 minute stroll away.

Peet's Restaurant

This popular restaurant offers a refreshingly exciting menu.  Local produce is used to create delicious food, at very reasonable prices. If you are looking for a light lunch or a wholesome home cooked evening meal, this is definitely a place to visit during your stay in the won't be dissappointed.

 The Caberfeidh

The Caberfeidh is owned by Colin and Leslie, the proprietors of the Albannach. The menu emphasises local, free range, seasonal and organic dishes. Generally there are a few large plates – traditional pub favourites, and a selection of small plates, which are roughly the size of a starter, allowing you to try a little more and have a selection – almost like a Scottish tapas. The Caberfeidh also has a couple of real ales on tap.

An Cala Café

The An Cala Café opened in the fisherman’s mission in 2015. They serve everything here, and at very reasonable prices. The menu has a wide selection of tasty well-cooked favourites, ranging from fish and chips to tray bakes and tea. It is a brilliant place to come in for a coffee or dinner with the whole family.

Just down the road...

Ullapool - 45 minutes by car

In Ullapool there are a selection of restaurants and food outlets all offering varying cuisines, standards and prices. We can personally recommend the Seaforth pub located just opposite the Ferry Terminal which offers a substantial and varied menu, including a good selection of locally caught seafood at very reasonable prices. They also operate the fish and chip shop next door!

Please note that prior to ferry sailings in the height of the summer this pub can get very full.

*During the peak season restaurants and bistros can get very busy. We strongly advise that you make bookings in advance where possible, we are happy to do this for you, all part of the service.
